Explorer Sessions (ages 3-4)
Each week of Explorer Summer Fun includes one in-house guest presentation, from organizations such as the National Aquarium, Eric Energy, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and a Hawaiian dance troupe.
Rainforest Adventure – June 22-26 (Week 1)
Let us take your child on a walk through the wilds of a tropical rainforest, home to over half the world’s species of animals and plants. Discover the natural world of bright colors, interesting sounds, plant life, and an astonishing variety of animals that leap, crawl, or fly through the rainforest. Each day consists of culture, music, art, cooking, and so much more!
Ooey Gooey Science – June 29- July 2 (4 Days – Week 2)
We all like to get a little messy every now and then – especially kids! Explore science while having fun with sticky, gooey, slimy hands-on activities that will keep your child laughing all week!
All Ball! – July 6-10 (Week 3)
Do all balls bounce? Are all balls round? How many ways do people use balls? With all this “ball talk,” let’s get outside and explore! This week is full of fun activities that include bouncing, throwing, painting, and creative playm as well as strengthening your physical development skills!
Dinosaurs – July 13-17 (Week 4)
Dinosaurs roamed earth well before the time of humans, ruling the globe for millions of years. Explore archaeology and discover all the wonders of our prehistoric past. Each day begins with a walk back in time through our Jurassic jungle. The children will dig into history, biology, botany, and science, as well as super‐sized fun.
Under the Sea – July 20-24 (Week 5)
Explore all of the wonders of the sea. Swim alongside whales and dolphins as they sing across vast stretches of ocean, see the bustling life abundant on a bright coral reef, and discover what lives in the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean. Each day will be filled with unique storytelling, treasure hunts, music and movement, art, and games.
Trip Around the World 1 – July 27-31 (Week 6)
Travel around the globe discovering the traditions of many cultures. Filled with music, cultural dances, games, and activities from places near and far. Explore different cuisines from around the world through fun and simple cooking activities. Countries studied this week are India, France, Italy, Russia, and the USA.
Trip Around the World 2 – August 3-7 (Week 7)
Travel around the globe discovering the traditions of many cultures. Filled with music, cultural dances, games, and activities from places near and far. Explore different cuisines from around the world through fun and simple cooking activities. Countries studied this week are Mexico, Japan, China, Egypt, and Ethiopia.
We will end our two week journey with a World Bazaar to celebrate all of the countries we have studied.
